Arzum x Vahaa Smart Garden, developed with our lab, is launched

The “Arzum x Vahaa Smart Garden”, a home soilless smart garden and the first product of about a year of R&D collaboration between the Gebze Technical University (GTÜ) Institute of Biotechnology and Vahaa through GTÜ Technology Transfer Office A.Ş., was launched in Beyoğlu, Istanbul on 27 May 2022. Our lab took on the plant science side of the collaboration.

Combining LED-supported soilless growing with the internet of things (IoT), the product grows many food plants without daylight in indoor spaces from homes to schools, and it is the first domestic product of its kind to reach the market. GTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammed Hasan Aslan attended the launch, together with Vahaa’s plant science advisor Asst. Prof. Bahar Yıldız Kutman and Asst. Prof. Ümit Barış Kutman.
