Our R&D greenhouse opens, the first concrete step of the GTÜ and GÜBRETAŞ partnership

The Institute of Biotechnology R&D Greenhouse, built under the university-industry cooperation protocol signed between Gebze Technical University (GTÜ) and GÜBRETAŞ in 2019, opened on 23 October 2020 with a ceremony on the GTÜ campus. At the ceremony, attended by GTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammed Hasan Aslan, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and GÜBRETAŞ executives, Asst. Prof. Ümit Barış Kutman, vice director of the Institute, presented the Institute and the greenhouse.

Run by our lab, the greenhouse was set up for developing new generation plant nutrition and protection products with domestic production, for soilless farming studies and for sustainable agriculture research. With controlled conditions for experiments all year round, it has since become the base of our applied work with industry.
