We took part in the first GTÜ and GÜBRETAŞ R&D workshop

The first R&D workshop of Gebze Technical University (GTÜ) and GÜBRETAŞ was held at the GTÜ Congress and Culture Centre. Institute faculty members, among them our PI Asst. Prof. Ümit Barış Kutman, took part alongside representatives of GÜBRETAŞ and other industrial companies.

In his opening speech, GTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. M. Hasan Aslan described the academic activities of the Institute and named GÜBRETAŞ as one of its leading industry partners. The collaboration agreement between GTÜ and GÜBRETAŞ was signed in February 2019, and the R&D greenhouse built after it, now run by our lab, was commissioned in October 2020. The speech also noted that four doctoral students are being trained as GÜBRETAŞ’s future R&D staff under the 2244 Industrial PhD Programme.
