GTÜ TTO invests in Agriverts, a student start-up advised by our PI

Gebze Technical University (GTÜ) has invested in the student start-up Agriverts through GTÜ Technology Transfer Office Inc. and become a 3% shareholder. Agriverts was founded by Abdullah Duman, a fourth-year student at the GTÜ Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, and our PI Asst. Prof. Ümit Barış Kutman is among the start-up’s advisors. The investment was announced as part of GTÜ’s continuing support for the ideas, projects and start-ups of its academics and students.

Agriverts is a Turkish start-up that develops plant-focused artificial intelligence technology for vertical farming facilities. Its SaaS platform provides production and quality control in these facilities and improves business and facility efficiency. The company also develops AI-based smart plant detection, climate control and feeding control devices.
