Open positions
We do not have a separately advertised position at the moment. Positions open with new projects several times a year, and we always read unsolicited applications: if your interests match ours, get in touch and we will tell you what is possible and when.
Who we look for
People who like plants and numbers in equal measure. Most of our work combines greenhouse or growth chamber experiments with element analysis and careful statistics, so curiosity, patience and a willingness to learn analytical methods matter more than a specific background. Students with degrees in biology, molecular biology and genetics, agriculture, bioengineering, chemistry or environmental engineering have all found their place in the lab.
Graduate students
MSc and PhD students apply through the graduate programmes of the Institute of Biotechnology at Gebze Technical University; admissions open twice a year. Before applying, please contact us with a description of your interests and background so that we can discuss possible thesis projects and funding. Funding routes include research assistant positions, scholarships within TÜBİTAK projects, the TÜBİTAK 2211 graduate scholarship programmes, the TÜBİTAK 2244 industry PhD programme with our partner companies, and the YÖK 100/2000 doctoral scholarships.
Undergraduate researchers and interns
Undergraduate students who want research experience in plant physiology, plant nutrition or soilless cultivation are welcome for graduation projects, TÜBİTAK 2209-A student projects, semester projects and summer internships. Several of our current PhD students started this way.
Postdoctoral researchers and visiting scientists
We host postdoctoral researchers and visiting scientists whose interests overlap with ours. Fellowship routes include the TÜBİTAK 2218 and 2219 programmes, TÜBİTAK 2232 for researchers returning to or moving to Türkiye, and international schemes such as Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowships. We are happy to support strong applications.
Companies and collaborators
Much of our applied work is done with companies: fertilizer and biostimulant development, soilless and vertical farming systems, substrates and waste valorisation. If you have a product or a problem in these areas, write to us; the Projects page shows what such collaborations have looked like so far.
Write to us
Tell us briefly who you are, what you would like to do and when. For applications, an e-mail with your CV, transcript and a short statement of research interests to the principal investigators listed on the People page works just as well.
For applications and questions, please e-mail the lab's principal investigators:
